Background of the organisation

Kakuma Mission Hospital started by the Medical Missionaries of Mary in 1964 as Food Distribution Centre.

Kakuma Mission Hospital started by the Medical Missionaries
of Mary in 1964 as a food distribution centre. It is a Faith Based
Medical Institution wholly owned and operated by the Catholic
Diocese of Lodwar;

The intimate authority and responsibility for all finances, policies
and actions of Kakuma Mission Hospital rests with the Diocese
Executive Commitee and led by his Lordship, the Bishop of the
Catholic Diocese of Lodwar.

Kakuma Mission Hospital is located in what is presently known
as Turkana County.

To minister to the Medical needs of people of Kakuma Turkana West Sub-County in an atmosphere of compassion while preserving the dignity of the people served.

Mission Statement

To provide high quality, equitable affordable Preventive and Curative Medical services to the Community of Kakuma Town, Turkana West Sub-County and the larger Turkana County.

    1. To ensure that the Hospital is fully equipped to meet the need of the people.
    2. To promote staff optimism and  retention at the Hospital
    3. To promote good Health of the patients
    4. To ensure Infection and Prevention diseases control measures are met
